White Milkglass

Remember this framed birdie picture from the '80's?  Home Interiors produced it; found this one for $1.00 at CC last year~~I used some pale aqua and brown paint to the frame~~

~~Noticed the hedges were starting to bud out a bit~~clipped some pieces for another floral~~painted some little peat pots and added one to this milkglass vase~~

Several of the junk shops seem to have an overstock of milkglass vases~~these are perfect for little spring florals at the shop~~I love to add a bit of whimsey to each one!

Baby silk crocuse peeking near the base~~and naturally dried white rose buds fill the peat pot~~

~~silk Forsythia in yellow~~and other white sprigs looks nice with the milkglass~~

~Seven little birds~~

Stencilled up some narrow old headers~~will look sweet on a shelf or above pictures~~

I'm off to the junk room today for more painting and projects~~

What do you think of using silks and naturals together?  Of course, nothing takes the place of a beautiful live bouquet~~but, I've come back around to silks and naturals for a more permanent/long-lasting display for each season~~

Love to hear your thoughts and comments!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

~Patty~

  5. I say use it all if needed.... we don't have much fresh selection at this timeof year. And no milk glass vases at our local thrift stores cuz I've bought them all for my daughter's August wedding!
