Chicken Wire Project & Flour Sack Towels

If you read my last post about the "tissue wrapping paper project"~~here's another similar project for an old wood, oval frame (painted, tissue images applied and distressed)

Chicken wire cut and stapled to the back side~~

Using some old wooden clothes-pins:  painted a few~~mod-podged some "wordy-things" to a few~~

Makes a sweet message board~~

Added a vintage hook to one side of the frame~~

Walmart sells these flour sack kitchen towels "on the cheap"~~~you can stencil on these just beautifully using fabric paints~~

It's a rainy day here today~~perfect for indoor projects.

Oh~~here's a fabulous website to go to for those of you who want discount, large quantities of (new) white flour sack towels for projects~~I'm buying a supply for my projects for the booths.

Tissue Paper Project ~ Frenchy Words

I'm the last one on the blogger~block to try the tissue paper project.

I love it!  My first try turned out pretty good; but, next time I'm trimming just a bit closer to the image/words before applying onto mod-podge.

Here's my tissue paper, some images with French words and chateau's~~

Here's the images I want to copy onto the tissue paper~~

Using a plain piece of copy paper and taped the tissue around it; leaving about 1/2 inch on sides to tape to the paper;

After printing out my images on to the tissue sheet~~

I cut out the images I want to use on my white painted wooden lid~~

Using mod-podge as a glue~~gently apply just the tissue portion after cutting out the image being used~~let dry then apply top coat of mod-podge.

I used several layers of the mod-podge (dry between coats) then lightly sanded; added one more coat of mod-podge; this gives the effect of the words "printed" on the wood piece~~

I am so in love with my Keurig Coffee-maker~~this project holds my favorite brand: Donut House coffee!

I bought the storage jar for $1.00 at CC~~with all the intentions to sell at the booth~~but keeping this one for me.  Will show some other projects with this technique later this week~~

~~See you at these fabulous parties~~

Paint/Stencil Projects and Junk Finds

I bought this vintage vanity bench last year at the resale shop~~and finally did something with it this week~~

Below is the before pic~~

And below~~

This vintage table (no before pics taken--oops)~~also going to the booth tomorrow~~

I've a bit more distressing to do on the lower level of the table~~

I shopped a bit this week and found these sweet metals~~

~~using one of the wire baskets as a display under the
vintage aluminum pitcher bouquet~~

~~this nice wicker wall basket for another floral arrangement~~

~~and I've had my eye on this large wooden cheese container; it went half price last week at the antique mall~~I'm not sure where I will use it yet~~

~~Painted up a vintage wicker cornecopia basket and did some Frenchy~type flowers~~

Used leftover wallpaper to wrap up some dried pink roses~~you can see it peeking out from the right of the basket~~

Has been a busy, but great week to get some projects done for the shop booths; now time to work outside and on the house.

Getting some hosta plants for free (gotta bring the shovel and dig 'em up myself)~~I'm reallllllly excited over that~~I love hostas!

Are you out in your gardens this week?

Thanks for stopping by; love to read your comments!
