2011 Projects Home and Garden

Here's a few of my 2011 projects~~lamps and shades revamped for resale at the shop~~

~~the old bricks I used to border the backyard flower garden~~

~~vintage stools painted up for porch flower pots~~

~~made a hanging dress form from vintage feed sack~~

~~stenciling became my friend again; great on papers and added to trays~~

~~my fondness of pale aqua found it's way on this old table~~and my first attempt sewing a muslin slipcover for my old chair~~

~~Krylon "Looking Glass" paint on some old porch lanterns became my favorite candle holders in the family room~~

~~Still working on the house, but love the new "vintage" wallpaper and the beadboard wallcover in the dining room~~love the use of galvanized "anything"~~and last fall decorated with buckets and burlap inside and out~~

Thank you for letting me recap my favorite things~~I can't wait to start more projects soon now that the holidays are over~~I have a list going~~don't you?

See you at these fun parties~~

Best Dollar Store Gifts

Above:  I made these chocolate spoons for my coffee~loving girlfriends~~we love treating each other to "semi~homemade" unique gifts~~our limit is under $10.00; must be partially home~made and a touch of vintage~~

I bought plastic clear and white spoons and DG had these simple silver spoons (3 for $1.00)~~~great for the choc. spoons; recipe at allrecipes.com~~they turned out perfect and yummy stirred in coffee or hot cocoa.

Here's what I picked up at Dollar Store to add with my chocolate spoons~~

Bought a big, black coffee mug to add some "spoons" and a cute little snowman dish~~

I love this cute "cafe" pattern--hey--$1.00 each; awesome!

Dollar Store also has a little matching tray~~perfect for cookies on the side~~

One of my friends collects vintage Santa cups~~found two this week and will add some chocolate spoons for her gifting~~so I'm just about done~~

"But Wait"~~then I saw this neat shelf liner paper in black and white toile~~I'm really loving this paper and plan to buy every roll of it~~(lining for drawers, projects, etc)~~

and found a cute 2012 calendar (it's gonna be here before we know it)~~

Fixed up a vintage clip~board~~this paper is awesome and sooo easy to use~~

If I had time, I would have painted the edges of the clip~board black and distressed~~it still is my favorite project so far this week~~

I hope you loved these cheap bargain gifts as much as I do; enjoyed using my creative thoughts for little gifts for my friends~~I think they'll love it.

Here's were the fabulous parties are~~see you there!

Ladies

Please allow me to show off my lovely lady~busts!  I love using them on side tables or an old dresser; usually as a backdrop of sorts or with my house plants.  Today, I've dressed them up with a little holiday finery~~

I did some great junk/bargain shopping this week with only spending about $12.00~~the greenery was someone's leftovers and brought into Habitat Resale Shop~~got four bunches (still fresh and green) for 1/2 off the already cheap price~~

The old wooden stool for $2.00 from CC~~would make a cute plant stand after it's painted~~

Above~~apothecary jar filled with little soaps~~I've had this awhile, but decided to dress it up for the bath/guests with a little of that greenery and simple red ribbon~~Apothecary jars make sweet gifts for all kinds of goodies~~

Got all these sweet brush trees for $1.00~~and a new Christmas tree china dish for $1.50~~

Here's my other favorite lady~~

It's rainy and dark early today; so more pictures tomorrow~~I'm saving the best of my loot for later this week~~and also picked up some neat stuff at the Dollar Store today that I'm using for Christmas gifts~~totally cute gift~giving ideas on the cheap (but doesn't look cheap!)~~

See you tomorrow~~will post if the sun cooperates!

~Patty~

See you at these fabulous parties this week~~
