Vintage Tool Box and Old Frames

Where I have my booths for resale of junk goodness/vintage adored~~another vendor was selling this adorable grain sack "Feed the Children of the World" which has been framed~~maybe it belonged to someone who participated in this cause~~

anyhow; it came home with me and sits on my bookshelf.

At a local junk store; these three frames/prints were very cheap in price.  I'm keeping Jesus with the lambs for my personal collection~~

The gold frame I will paint~~not so sure about the peace-pipe depiction; but removing it from it's frame.  Old frames sell pretty fast for me; lucky to nab onto some fabulous looking ones recently for just a few dollars each!

~~this big tool caddy was $5.00~~I can see potential with this painted;  a nice piece to put on the porch for seasonal decorations:  pumpkins and leaves.  Winter time:  holly berry branches, yew branches with a sprinkle of white lights.

~It's very "fall-ish" here today; so somber and quiet; I notice some leaves on the trees starting to turn just a bit in color; already!

Have a great day with many Blessings!  ~patty~

Good Junk Day!

All this goodness for under $15.00~~which includes "attached" wooden crates in last photo~~

This home~made wooden caddy filled with nails, washers, old wire, etc~~

~~sweet 3~arm wooden towel rack~~I wanted this for an old kitchen island I'm "redesigning" from an old sewing machine cabinet~~

~~$2.00 for the wooden magazine rack; already on the painting tarp with a stencil job on the front panel~~

I only show one of these drawers; but, I got 4 of them!

~~and 5 wooden crates all attached to each other with screws~~I'll be taking those apart and selling individually~~some I will attach chunky little legs~~

Thanks for stopping by and seeing my junk!

Have a great day with many Blessings~~~~patty

Raspberry Pink and Barkcloth

I'm still having a love affair with barkcloth; especially with darker pinks; vibrant greens~~I still want to make huge throw pillows for the daybed.  I still want a little color with old fashioned roses in my very own room where I create; where I just like to go to be alone sometimes~~

There's just enough pretty blue in this piece of vintage fabric; I'm thinking blue ticking for the back side of pillows~~still thinking~~

Somewhere along the path I had lost touch with prettier fabrics for the roughness~look of burlap and French stripes~~I'm starting to want something a bit different for myself in my own little hide~away~~

Do you sometimes feel that way~~like you just want to be different and change up the style and colors?  I think this lovely, vintage piece of fabric did that to me~~

Have a great and Blessed day.  ~Patty~

Little Ladder

I had some really cute junk finds this week so far; rain is coming pretty quickly so snapped just this darling little ladder and a few garden shots~~

I may put this in my laundry room~~

~~rabbits have almost eaten all my petunias; there's hardly any left in this corner garden!

Maybe some sunshine tomorrow; I want to post my other treasures and show you the best deal I got on wooden crates and a large tool caddy~~

Have a great day with many Blessings.   ~Patty~

French Table, Toile Pillows, Ivy and Rosie

I had this old farm table at my booths for a long time; it originally was just an old white table; we cut down the legs; painted gray and white with gray stripe and a French stencil~~

~~has a little drawer at one end; I modpodged a pretty paper to the inside drawer and added a glass knob~~I'm taking in back to the booths today, although I really like it in this room~~

~~Rosie, our rescue doggie; she loves to be in pictures~~

~~Today, got this nice, big heavy ironstone pitcher for $5.00~~

~~I'm loving these new zippered pillow slips I got from a seller on Ebay recently~~

~~I recently bought new area rugs to update the looks in the rooms a bit and the pillows blend so well~~

There's Ivy not liking being in the picture; she doesn't trust cameras~~also a rescue dog from a shelter~~

~~and this is her room~~she will make anyone get off the loveseat~~it's her's!  She thinks.

Had a good junkin' day; better lighting tomorrow will picture my loot.  Thanks for stopping by; have a Blessed week.  ~Patty~

Coleus, Saving Seeds and Garden Plans

Geez; the weatherman got it almost right today; 3rd day in a row of gloom and rain;

~~with a "chance of sunshine by afternoon"~~we'll see about that~~

I've been gathering some seeds/berries/pickings to play with inside~~

~~and my coleus plants look like they've had it~~and I have a question~~

~~below is a coleus I started from a clipping and then planted in a pot; it's indoors in my laundry room;
I remember my Grandmother growing them near the windows inside all year long (and even geraniums); they seemed to thrive very well~~

~~have any of you luck with growing coleus indoors out of season??   I will keep you posted if my little project turns out or not~~

~~and I bought some flowering vines and some perennial packets for next year.   Already planning for a trellis idea for sweetpea or moonflower vines~~

It feels good to have plans for the next year's garden~~

Have a great day.  Blessings,  ~Patty~

Small Junk Day

Little sunshine yesterday, but great day to browse around the junk shops.  I did not disappoint myself at all.

Sweet quilted aqua tray~~

~this is so, so precious; a handmade old paper/cardboard cross with handiwork, vintage ribbon and pretty handpainted  roses~~at the top you can see the small painted depiction of the Bleeding Heart~~

~not seen one of these since my late 1990's shabby chicness days~~I sold a bunch of these like crazy back then;  I got so burned out on pink stuff that I don't buy as much like I used to for resale at my booths: resale for items like this seems to be less desirable right now (at least around here); but, this one so pretty I have it for myself sitting on some books near my computer now~~

Look at this gorgeous woman!  Part of an old hook/door thing; came in a box of lovely junk~~
wanted to show this by itself~~

Great deal on vintage loaf pans; got a project in mind for these~~

Hope you're having sunshine today: rainy again today here, but tomorrow is a promise of sunshine all day and I'm going outside to do something!  Anything~~maybe weed the flower beds.  Maybe not!

Have a great day and many Blessings to you; thanks for stopping by!   ~Patty~

August

Hadn't posted since Easter; having so much to do inside the house and rather be outside; lots to do there too:

Worked up more flower beds; so next year they will look fuller with bit more color;

Trying to stay with perennials; dividing them up to get more for my money; can get pretty pricey at the beginning of the planting season.  I love using vermiculite to root some extras too:

Dried hydrangeas for some bouquets~~

Some of my flowers are already winding down for the season;
and in this old clay pot, I plopped in a new kind of pepper plant; they are tiny and perfect to pluck, wash, bag, freeze---these are great in casseroles.   Amazing the amount I got from one potted plant this year!

Thanks for stopping by; have a great week.  Blessings;   ~Patty~
