Strawberry Linens & Winner!

Thank you to those who entered my little give-away.  What fun this has been and I want to do it again next month or so.  I love finding a treasure or two to pass on to a blogger-buddy!  Please know I appreciate each and everyone of you and enjoy visiting your blogs for inspiration and new ideas.  Here's my VERY FIRST GIVE-AWAY WINNER:

This is the give-away from over the weekend--

Thank you to "HAPPY COTTAGE QUILTER"; please visit her lovely blog!

And today I wanted to show-off my strawberry linens--I got these on the very cheap last week at our local resale shop--all of them strawberries! (except the placemats which have cute little watermelons on them)--

These "never used" napkins: four for $1.25.  I love them!

The set of four soft mesh-type placemats were too cute to  pass up:  half price for all four--$1.00.

And two small tablecloths/toppers--both so sweet.  I love the vintage print with little strawberries and the dainty blue flowers mixed in:

I will use this one outside on the tablescape maybe later this summer--don't you love the needlework on this one!

Ahhh---the joy of junking!  Happy thrifting to all of you this week--can't wait to see your bargains and your projects!  Hugs to all!

This is the "before picture"~~

Inbetween the rain~~painting it white: we haven't added the top cross boards yet~~maybe by next week:

(see that sneaky ladder off to side in the bushes?? Tricky spot to try and paint!)
and added the bricks around the bush~~not done yet with bricks either~~have to finish the left side of flower bed too.  Backbreaking~~but, I love it.

And inbetween the rain I started this little project with miniture pots; flowers and vines:

I managed to get one project done!~~~this little wooden stool~~

Added the metal front piece and painted white:  sits on front porch (that also needs painted)~~so many projects!

And here's my treasures I found this week!   All on the cheap~~you know I love a bargain:

Little wooden structure for 25 cents~~complete with hook and plastic ivy~~lol~~sweet for garden projects:

Set of 4 blue placemats $1.00; and tattered but so sweet tablecloth $2.00:

Found another porcelain hen napkin ring (25 cents):

Half~price day at the local resale shop~~this little cane~divider screen for $1.25:

Green "Curiosity Shop" bread plates all with "clocks"~~$4.00
and two large dinner plates with white/pink roses for $2.00~~

I love this dog~~this is Mr. Zuse~~he's very noble and loving~~and stands in front of my $3.00 table I got from Catholic Charity this week~~

Tuesday Things!

Our local habitat resale shop has some really neat cast offs/donations regularly.
Above photo:  another paint-by-number roses in little wooden frame~~I seem to find these frequently lately~~does that happen to you with certain items?

Wooden Cow~~going to paint it white (of course) and a little vintage metal knack shelf.

This other "dime~store" print under glass is so pretty~~muted creams/pale yellow frame.

Paid $5.00 for this big tureen; minor chip to it~~will add to my ironstone collection.  The platter I've had a long time and looks nice layered beneath.

Blue tablecloth from last weeks shopping adventure at CC: $4.00.

A small; humble give-away on May 31st: hope you enter~~details the weekend prior~~here's the little seven items for give-away:

Here's where I'm hookin' up with this week:

This Week's Projects~~

Sun is out!  Only 60 degrees~~but hey~~not complaining 'cause there is no rain today.  Yea!!

We got the iron rack planters added to the shed windows~~finally some color back here~~in a few weeks the flowers will look pretty good and full.

Here's my $3.00 chair from Resale Shop and a $1.00 little stool~~my projects also for this week:

Painted the stool after removing the fabric~~and will add that metal bracket~thingy to the front side and paint it white too~~for the potted plants on front porch~~

(metal bracket thingy 1/2 off from Hobby Lobby)

I bought this old metal chair for $2.00 at our local habitat resale store; not safe to sit in, but great for tucking into the shaded garden to hold birdhouses or potted plants.  I want to paint it white eventually~~

My flowers front of the house are reds/whites/blues~~
They look a little "lame" right now; but in a few weeks they'll be lush and full:

Okay; gotta get busy~~will post my results later~~working on the pergola still too!
Have a great week!

~GIVE-AWAY~  May 31st~~ I hope you'll be here!

Below are the items for a drawing on the 31st of May~~I'll be posting the weekend prior to remind everyone.  Seven sweet items for one give-away~~I know it's nothing spectacular and rather humble, but I love the simplicity, vintage appeal each piece holds.  I think you'd like them too.

~A Little Blue Toile~

I bought this adorable wall lamp a few weeks ago for $3.00 at Catholic Charities:

Locally at our resale shop found blue toile curtain/valances for $1.00 to use for pillows and other projects:

I decided not to paint the wrought iron on the lamp; but to leave it black~~the white milk~glass center piece looks pretty against it.

And used the toile fabric for the little shade; even the trim work from the edge of the valance works as a nice edging/finishing touch~~plus a little white braided trim to play off the milk~glass:

Now this vintage Frenchy lamp is ready for resale at my booth at the antique mall.  This was my little project last night~~I love toile; don't you?

I'm having my first GIVE-AWAY: May 31st~~hope you will join in the fun!
