Beadboard Church

Last year I bought this darling church made of old beadboard~~it stole my heart instantly~~a flameless candle inside shows the light through the cracks~~

Added the swag to the top~~see the steeple with the little brass bell?

I have it sitting on the "old sewing machine" table (bought the table for $1.25 at Habitat Resale Shop)~~I painted the base a faded aqua (you know I love me some aqua with my browns/whites/creams in the house~~:)~~sanded the top; restained with a medium walnut finish~~

Tweaking this morning~~my tall basket fits perfectly underneath~~after Christmas I'm going to stencil a number on the basket and maybe stain it to look antique~~

Below is the "before" of old sewing table~~I sanded the top and purchased the drawer pull from Hobby~~

~~And still tweaking with greenery here and there~~the striped "towel" is actually a cotton placemat~~purchased from Big Lots for $1.00~~I thought about stenciling on this too~~

Today is "retail" shopping day for family Christmas presents~~I may stick in a little time to hit the junk/resale shops too~~you never know what may be waiting to come home~~

Hope you're having a Blessed and grateful day.

Red Plaid and Old Barn

I fell in love with this old "Scotch Kooler"~~it was a bargain due to some dents and dings~~~

Setting up this vignette in my office/craft room as a sample~~I'm taking most of these items to my booth today to spruce up with some reds and greens~~here is where I get messy in this little space of mine; then I box it up and off it goes (I'd like to think of this as my INSPIRATIONAL ROOM; it's more of a junk~treasure~filled space as I create and produce items for resale)~~
~~and look at the $3.00 vintage canvas oil painting signed and dated 1959~~does this not speak of Christmas?  I love this painting~~

I'm keeping the big ornate, wood frame~~painting it white for use in the dining room eventally~~the huge pinecone wreath will get a big bow and off to the booth this morning with the plaid cooler and greenery~~

Hobby has some lovely
"velvet" textured poinsettias~~the whites are fabulous; I used to not like poinsettias (real or faux)~~now I'm in love with this pretty holiday flower!

Thanks for being here; I appreciate all your lovely comments and suggestions~~tell me what your projects are this week~~I need some motivation!

White Glitter

Below are my junk~hunting finds with the "before" repainted tree~~

I removed all the colored beads~~

hand~painted the tree with leftover house paint; let dry and brushed on Elmer's glue and sprinkled on gobs of white glitter~~

then NOT finding any replacement clear "Christmas" type beads anywhere~~used a sprig of holiday floral beads; cut them off and glued stems into the holes.  Worked perfectly!

Christmas cards were turned into "hanging ornaments" ~~(these have been good sellers for me this year at my booth);  used vintage papers and trims and hot~glued sparkle berry sprigs~~they look pretty gathered in bowls and baskets too~~

~~and Dollar Store ornaments revamped with more silver or white glitter~~

~~I love how the ceramic tree turned out; too cold to spray paint~~actually cut expenses by using leftover can~paint!

What's your latest project?

Here's where the parties are this week~~I'll see you there!
